There are no winners in this movie. I can sit here and try to find faults for this movie, but frankly I'd be wasting a lot of time searching for them besides maybe the music used for this movie does not always fit.

This movie was recommended to me by a friend and it is a hidden gem. It does not pull punches in the slightest bit, and it does not care for what you want to happen.

In it's simplest terms, this is a revenge story, and a haunting one at that. A story that ultimately conveys what we all know deep inside but would rather forget to satisfy our own demons; that is; revenge is ugly, and when the blood has been spilled, no victors remain.

If you did like Taken, you won't like it as much after watching this. It's a vengeance film on steroids It's a vengeance film on meth. I can usually see plot-twists a mile away.

Not this time. I was constantly surprised 'til the very end of this movie. There's lots of violence, employing everything from guns to fishing equipment.

Yes, fishing equipment. Some scenes are not for the squeamish. But the violence is not gratuitous. I particularly appreciated the martial arts scenes.

I should just call them fight scenes, since they are so realistic. The kicks, punches, etc. They are a bit clumsy, just as in real fights.

The pace is relentless. You won't even want to pause it. Any director wanting to do an action film should watch this before hand and see how the genre has been perfected.

And, it is not a shallow buddy-cop adventure or any cliched nonsense of that nature. It's a film that forces one to examine the nature of good vs.

Perfect balance in all fields create an emotionally charged mise en scene. For example, both leads Lee Byung-hoon and Choi Min-sik play their own versions of psychotic in different, masterful ways.

These opposite, yet equally convincing interpretations of insanity, one being an obsessive psychotic and the other being an apathetic psychotic, actually interact intensely.

Who is the "I" in the movie's title? It could be either of the leads. As for the writing, the film reworks a typical revenge premise and turns it on its head.

Sometimes a person who is angry is more dangerous than a person who is inherently violent. Sometimes the villain is the one being pursued and terrorized.

This adds originality to a typical premise, making the film unique. With themes of futility, apathy, and revenge, this movie will give a thinking an observant viewer plenty to reflect on.

Highly recommended for anyone with a strong enough stomach and analytic mind. If you have a weak stomach or a weak heart, stay away. If you want a great movie, with suspense, great acting, and surprises and your ok with blurring the lines of the good guy vs the bad guy Then this is the movie for you!!!

Darunter eine Korea-Fassung und eine internationale Fassung. Welche hierzulande greift, ist schwierig herauszufinden. Ebenso schwer war es, die Laufzeiten der verschiedenen Versionen herauszufinden.

Der Index ruft. Das Fazit zu den Schnitten: Als erfahrener Zuschauer ahnt man, wo diese gesetzt wurden. Auf jeden Fall andere, manche sagen bessere, als aus Hollywood.
