Copenhagen Region, Denmark 3 contributions 10 helpful votes. Great travel in Venezuela. Given that I had only two weeks of vacation, I searched for some local operators in order to travel very efficiently although I normally prefer on my own.
I contacted several local tour companies, but I decided to work with explorepartners. During my tour, I did not worry about my safety because partners provided all services.
Remember to bring USD small cash. When it is rainy season it is harder to see great views compared to dry season. The rainy season is the best time to visit Angel Falls.
You might visit several falls including Angel falls for 3 days. Obviously Angel Falls are the most famous tourist place compared to other falls during the tour, I personally preferred other falls and the islands of Los Roques because of various activities.
You could swim and dive all day. The whole tour was exciting - the last day I had chance to go to Caracas. Many people might avoid traveling to Caracas given the safety issue.
But there is no problema - great life style and atmosphere here. Thanks to the local guide provided I could look around Caracas and learn many things about Venezuela including the Islands.

It is a wonder of the natural world and rightly so. What is even more incredible is that you get to share it with the people you are travelling with and that's about it.
There is no one around. No jostling for photo opportunities because it is just you and that waterfall! The trip we took was on long boats from near Waku Lodge where we stayed.
The boatmen do an incredible job through the rapids and it took us just over four hours to get there. The hike up to the viewing platform is strenuous and I would suggest poles but the view is worth it.
You will get wet on the boat so make sure you have good waterproof gear particularly for your cameras. A trip I will never forget.
